Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Happy Monday everyone.  Did you have a great weekend?  The weather here in Rhode Island was fall-like, which was so wonderful!

Did you know that October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is just around the corner? Breast cancer is a very important cause to myself and my family, as my mom is a seven year breast cancer survivor. Cancer can have such a huge impact on a patient and their entire family, and it can leave you feeling extremely helpless when it affects you or someone you love.
 
When my mom was diagnosed my aunt and I felt the need to do something to help the cause, and chose to participate in the Boston Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. The first walk was so inspiring we continued to participate in two more Boston walks, as well as one in Chicago. The walks consist of two days and 39 miles of walking, all to raise amazing amounts of funding for the fight against breast cancer. Some of these days involved eight hours of walking in 98 degree weather, while others were filled with constant rain, but we always had an amazing experience and were able to help in the fight against breast cancer.
